Three Passes Trek Package Cost Includes

Transportation Costs

Our Everest Three High Pass Trek package covers all the flight and ground transportation charges. Ground transportation includes airport pick up and transfer to the hotel in a private vehicle. The other costs are the airport pick-up and drop-off expenses for the domestic flight between Kathmandu and Lukla. All the hotel to airport transfers are made in a private vehicle.

Similarly, you will take the flight at the beginning of the journey to make it to the starting point of the trek. The flight to Lukla is thrilling and you will be treated to the stunning views of the surroundings the entire time. After completing the three-pass trek, you will take flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. We will make all the arrangements of transportation bookings, ensuring you an organized journey.

Accommodation

Accommodation is a necessity in a journey to ensure proper rest, sleep and recharge. You can be fresh on each day of a journey when you get a good amount of rest. During trekking, you will be traversing rugged terrains for long hours. The cost of hotel expenses in Kathmandu and the entire accommodation during trek is included in the package.

We have arranged your stay in a 3 star hotel during your stay in Kathmandu. Similarly, during trek we reserve the best teahouses along the trail, ensuring that you have a comfortable stay. Staying in tea houses along the trail can be a fascinating and unique experience for you. You will get a cozy and well maintained room with a comfortable bed, blankets and pillow. In addition, the warm reception of the owners and interesting interaction with the fellow trekkers will make your stay more joyful.

Cost of Meals

Meal expenses during the trek are covered by the package. A nutritious and balanced diet is essential to stay healthy and maintain a good performance throughout the journey. During trekking, the tea houses along the route offer nutritious, hearty and warm meals. Many teahouses serve local as well as international cuisines.

Our Everest High Passes Package covers the cost of meals of the entire trekking period, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The most common meal in the teahouse is Nepali dal bhat (rice, lentils and veggies). It is fulfilling and delicious and is loved by many trekkers. Likewise, other food items such as momo, noodles, soups, porridge, pasta, thukpa, chapati, eggs, tibetan bread are also served by the tea houses along the trek.

You will have lunch in the teahouse along the trail during the trek and breakfast and dinner will be provided at the teahouse where you stay overnight. In addition, we also provide seasonal fruits in the evening as a refreshing treat. Similarly, the three passes trek package also covers the cost of your breakfast during your stay in Kathmandu.

Guides Cost

Guides help you have a joyful and smooth trekking experience. Their valuable assistance will make the journey enjoyable. The guides have full knowledge about terrains and will help you in navigation. In addition, they will make your trekking more engaging by providing interesting information about the trek. During Everest Three Pass Trek, you will traverse varied terrains. There are uphill and downhill sections and navigating through it does require insight of the licensed guide who are familiar in traversing such terrains.

Our Everest Three Pass Trek package covers the guide’s salary. In addition, the guide’s equipment, insurance, flights, food and drinks are also included in the package. If you are trekking in a group of 5 or more, assistance guides will accompany and support you.

Cost of Permits

Permits are mandatory during trekking. It is issued for regulation of trekking activities, keeping records of the trekkers to ensure their safety. Similarly, the revenues that are collected through permits are used for development of local infrastructure and protection of the natural environment.

There are two permits required for Three Passes trek and they are

  • Sagarmatha National Park permit
  • Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit

Porters Cost

Porters will be there for you and assist you in carrying the bags during trekking. The terrains of the Everest Region are uneven and demanding. So, you will need the assistance of a porter to ensure a smooth journey.

Our porters are dedicated and friendly. They will handle your luggage during the trek so that you can focus on careful navigation and enjoy sightseeing the stunning views of magnificent vistas of the Everest Region without worrying about carrying heavy bags. One porter for two trekkers is assigned and porter's cost, salary and insurance is included in the package.

First Aid Kit Cost

While traversing in high altitude zones for a long period of time, there are certain risks, such as falling ill during the journey or any unforeseen accidents. So, a first aid kit is necessary to quickly address minor health complications or injuries that may arise while trekking.

Green Society Adventure provides a first aid kit with necessary supplies. We will also provide an oximeter to check on the oxygen and pulse level during the journey. In addition, our crew has knowledge of first aid and they are capable of handling emergencies in the high altitudes. The cost of a first aid kit is included in your trek package.

Route Maps, Duffle Bag and Complimentary T-Shirt

We provide the duffle bag, maps of trekking routes and a complimentary T-shirt. A Trekking Map is necessary for navigation, estimated travel time, and being well informed about the routes. It helps you to understand the terrains of the higher zones better.

Similarly, in a duffle bag, where you can store all the trekking essentials. You will also get a complimentary T-shirt as a token of appreciation, which will be with you as a memory of the trek.

Trekking Gears: Down Jackets and Sleeping Bags

We provide you down jackets and sleeping bags that are crucial during trekking. As the higher zones are mostly cold, you will need down jackets to stay warm, comfortable and healthy. Similarly, sleeping bags are necessary during high altitude adventures like trekking. The weather at higher elevations is cold, and blankets may not be sufficient to keep you warm. So, sleeping bags are essential for staying warm during the cold nights. You can return sleeping bags and down jackets after completion of trek.

International Airfare and Visa

International airfare is not included in the package. The package covers the cost of all transportation within Nepal and for international airfare, you can select the airline and book flights based on your budget and personal choices.

Similarly, visa fees are not covered by the package too. You need to obtain the visa and you will have options of 15 days, 30 days and 90 days. If you want to stay longer after the trek then you can also extend the visa to explore other beautiful places of Nepal.

Tips for Guides and Porters

Tips are given to appreciate the effort and assistance provided by the trekking crew during the journey. Guides and porters will provide their valuable support throughout the journey. You will have a delightful and joyful journey when you have a guide and porter by your side throughout the trek. They will help you with navigation and also will communicate with you the entire time, making your journey informative and engaging.

Even though tipping is not compulsory, it can help to motivate guides and porters and can be an extra income for them. Usually, trekkers tip about 10% to 15% of the package cost. However, the decision on the amount you wish to tip is completely up to you.

Lunch and Dinner in Kathmandu

Your trek package does not include the cost of lunch and dinner in Kathmandu. The package covers the cost of breakfast during your stay in Kathmandu but for lunch you can explore the city area and decide on your own.

There are several eateries in Kathmandu Valley. You will find a variety of food options served in the restaurants. Whether you like having traditional meals in a local restaurant or wish to have fine dining experience, Kathmandu offers a variety of culinary options and you can choose the one on the basis of your preferences. The streets of the Kathmandu Valley are vibrant and many travelers enjoy sitting at the rooftop of the restaurant and admire the views of the surroundings while having lunch.

In addition, there are also small stalls where you can find local snacks that are delicious. The best way to experience the local culture is also through the food and Nepali food is delicious, so you can try different Nepal dishes in the local eateries. Similarly, you can ask for recommendations with locals or check online reviews to find the best restaurant around the town.

Personal Expenses

During any kind of journey, there are personal expenses. Like, you may want to purchase souvenirs, local snacks and clothes. Similarly, you need to pack wisely during trekking. You will need warm clothes, comfortable trekking boots and hygiene items like tissues, wet wipes, sunscreens, toothbrush, towel, lip balm. The package does not include the cost of these essentials.

In addition, phone calls, bar bills, battery charge, hot shower, internet, boiled water, laundry costs also adds to the personal expenses. Besides, personal expenses highly depend upon your spending patterns and preferences. However, some unforeseen expenses may arise. So, it is wise to have extra cash for covering the additional cost which may be incurred during the journey.

Travel Insurance

The Three Passes Trek does not cover the cost of travel insurance. Travel insurance is mandatory to trek in Nepal. While trekking, you will traverse through the rugged and uneven pathways for several days. So, there are some kinds of risks which may occur during any moment of your journey. So, you must ensure that you are financially protected and have travel insurance.

Travel Insurance provides financial security against possible risks like, trip interruption or delay because of any unexpected event, stolen or lost baggage, medical expenses incurred because of accidents or illness during journey and also helicopter rescue in emergency situations. So, for high altitude trekking, it is important that you inquire with your insurance company about their policy and coverages.

There are many general and extensive packages available providing many kinds of coverage. However, during trekking, it is advisable to select the policy that provides coverage for emergency evacuation.

Charges of Extra Baggage

While you are heading for any high altitude adventures, it is important to pack all the important items by making a checklist. During the Everest High Pass Trek, you will trek for several days and you will need essentials to maintain hygiene and stay comfortable.

You will take a flight to Lukla and you should be well informed about the weight limit of the luggage for a flight. For Kathmandu-Lukla, flight baggage’s weight limit is 10 kg. Similarly, the hand carry’s weight limit is 5 kg. You need to learn about baggage restrictions and pack accordingly. In addition, if the weight limit exceeds you may have to leave things behind or pay extra. The extra baggage costs aren’t covered by your trek package. So, you have to pack wisely while knowing about the luggage limit.

Note: The cost of anything not mentioned in the includes section of the trek package and accommodation during early arrival, late departure or return from the mountain ahead of the scheduled itinerary is not covered by the package.
