Gokyo Valley Trek Cost Includes
All Transportation Charges
Our Gokyo Valley Trek package covers the cost of all the transportation charges. We arrange the airport and hotel transfers in a comfortable private vehicle. Similarly, the cost of a two way flight between Kathmandu and Lukla is also included in the package. The flight to Lukla is exhilarating as well as scenic. Beautiful views of green hills, towns and stunning snowy peaks are seen during the flight. It takes around 25 to 30 minutes to arrive in Lukla from Kathmandu.
It is a point where many of the treks of Everest Region start. In peak seasons, the flights to Lukla can also operate through Ramechhap. You will enjoy a scenic ride to Ramechhap for 4 hours and take a flight to Lukla from the airport. We will be responsible for making arrangements for all the transportation ensuring you a stress free journey.
Trekking Permits
Obtaining the permits are essential during the Gokyo Lake Trek. During Gokyo Valley Trek, you will traverse through pristine Sagarmatha National Park. The park is blessed with enchanting glaciers, landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. The revenue collected through it is used for the development of local infrastructure and the conservation of the natural environment. Similarly, it also helps to keep the record of the trekkers, to ensure their safety.
Documents such as passport sized photographs, passport copies, and travel insurance are needed for obtaining them. The package includes the cost of both permits. If you book the trek with us we will obtain the permits for you.
The permits required for the Gokyo Lake Trek are:

- Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit.
Accommodation
Proper rest is necessary during the journey. After covering long distances traveling through the varied terrains, you will need a comfortable place to stay. We have arranged your stay in a hotel during Kathmandu and you will stay in the finest tea houses during the trek. During the trek you will stay in stunning places like Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dole, Machhermo and Gokyo Valley.
The service provided by the owners is exceptional. Their warm reception and hospitality has always been appreciated. The tea houses along the trail provide cozy rooms, which are well maintained, ensuring you a convenient stay. Staying in the beautiful tea houses along the trail, interacting with trekkers who have embarked on the trek from around the world is truly intriguing. Our Gokyo Valley Trek Package covers the cost of accommodation for Kathmandu and throughout the trek.
Full Board Meals
To complete the trek successfully, you need to have a fulfilling meal. The package includes cost of full board meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the trek. There are a variety of dishes that are served in the teahouses. The popular traditional dish Dal Bhat (Rice, Vegetables and Lentil Soups) are loved by locals as well as foreigners. However, there are many dishes available such as Soup, Eggs, Bread, Roti, Noodles, Thukpa and many more. The breakfast and dinner will be in the place where you stay overnight and for lunch we will take you to the finest tea house along the route. When you complete the trek, we will organize a farewell dinner where you can talk about your experiences and also give us your feedback.
Fruits, and Desserts Cost
Our Gokyo Valley Trek package covers the cost of fruits, and dessert during the trek. Snacks are required during high altitude adventures for refreshments and getting energy. We serve cookies as dessert and seasonal fruits in the evening which will provide you much needed recharge after a long journey by foot.
Guides
The guides will accompany you throughout the trek. They will provide valuable guidance in navigation. All our guides are familiar with the trail conditions of the region and will provide you with interesting information about the region. They are licensed and experienced in leading the treks and will make all the necessary arrangements for you as per your request.
Trekking in Everest Region offers you many memorable experiences and getting a chance to explore the unique culture is one of them. The guides will explain everything in detail about the history, culture and tradition of the place. They are all fluent in English and will translate for you, helping you understand the locals better.
The package covers the cost of Guides, along with their salary, insurance, food, and accommodation. An assistant guide will accompany you if you are trekking in a group of 5 people.
Porters Cost
Porters will assist you in carrying the heavy bags. During the journey, you will need many essentials and carrying heavy baggage can be difficult especially in the uneven and rugged terrains of Everest Region and being accompanied by the porters is necessary for completing the trek smoothly.
Our porters are friendly and hardworking. Their valuable assistance will help you immerse in the beauty of the region without having to worry about the burden of carrying the baggage. 1 porter is assigned for the 2 trekkers. The cost of the porter’s salary, insurance, meals and lodging is covered by the package.
First Aid Kit
There are certain risks that can occur during high altitude adventures like trekking. There is a possibility of you getting sick or having injuries because of any unforeseen events.There are many steep sections which you will have to navigate during trekking, and there are risks of falls and slips which can cause injuries. So, the First Aid Kit with basic medicines is essential throughout the journey.
Green Society Adventure provides the First Aid Kit. Our crew is trained in first aid, and the package covers the cost of the First Aid Box.
Duffel Bags and Maps
We provide you with duffel bags and maps. You can store trekking gears and essentials in the duffel bags. Similarly, the map is necessary for staying on the correct path and navigation. Maps also help in planning of routes and estimating distance. The Gokyo Lake Trek cost includes GSA Duffel Bags and Maps.

Nepal Visa Fee
The visa fee is not covered by the package. After arriving in Nepal, you have to obtain a visa. You can get the visa on the basis of how long you want to stay. There are 15 days, 30 days and 90 days visas available and you can choose the one on the basis of your timeframe. If you want to explore other places of Nepal after the completion of the trek, then you can extend the visa. There are many beautiful places in Nepal and you can explore it even after completing the trek by extending your stay.
International Airfare
The cost of your international airfare is not covered by the package. As soon as you land in the airport, all the ground transportation and domestic flight charges will be covered by the package but the cost of international airfare isn’t included in the package. You can choose on which airlines you want to travel and make bookings on the basis of your budget.
Personal Expenses
The cost of your personal expenses during the journey is not covered by the package. For the preparation for the tour, you need to buy pack required clothes and essentials. Many trekking gears such as Sleeping bags, Trekking poles, Flashlights, Headlamps are essential during trekking. As, higher zones the weather is mostly cold, you will need layered clothing to stay protected. So, you need Down Jackets, Warm Trousers, Fleece Jackets, for staying warm throughout the trek. You can either rent these or buy trekking gears. You should check about all the essentials, make a checklist and pack. If anything trekking essential is missing, then you can find many shops in Kathmandu where all the trekking gears are available for buying and renting.
Similarly, you may want to purchase something along the way which adds to your personal expenses. There are many local products available along the trail, which you may want to buy as a memory of the trip or for gifting. In addition, the personal expenses include hot showers, phone calls, laundry, hot and cold drinks, and bar bills. Many tea houses provide hot shower facilities at an extra cost. They usually heat the water and provide it in buckets. These days many tea houses also offer internet facilities for which you have to pay extra.
Note: As ATMs in the mountain regions aren’t reliable, we recommend withdrawing money from Kathmandu. It is important to carry cash while traveling in Nepal since many places only accept cash as the means of payment.
Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is crucial during high altitude adventures. During Gokyo Valley Trek, you will traverse across many rugged and wavy terrains for many days. So, you need to be aware about the risks that come along and have travel insurance which provides financial protection against such risks.
For high altitude adventures, it is important to choose a policy that provides coverage for helicopter evacuation in case of emergencies. The helicopters can land in such areas which are unreachable in any other means of transportation. They help a lot in rescue operations in case any unexpected event occurs during a trek. So, for Gokyo Valley Trek we recommend choosing a policy which provides coverage for helicopter evacuation.
In addition, it must also cover the medical expenses which are caused due to any accidents or illness during the journey.
Tips for Guides and Porters
Guides and porters will provide valuable assistance throughout the journey. Tipping them is one of the ways to show your gratitude for the guides and porters. Getting accompanied by the guide and porter will reward you with delightful and enriching trekking experiences.
It is not mandatory, but many trekkers usually tip around 10 % to 15 % of the total cost. The tips can be a source of extra income for the guide and porters. It will also make them feel appreciated and they will get motivated. It is completely up to you to tip the guides and porters, the package doesn't cover its cost.
Excess Baggage Charge
It is always essential to pack wisely without missing anything important. During the trek, you will traverse for several days and you need essentials for maintaining hygiene and comfort. The journey requires taking a flight to Lukla and there is a weight limit for flight. The weight limit of the baggage is 10 kg. Similarly, the limit of hand carry is 5 kg. If the weight of the baggage exceeds, then you may have to pay extra charges for it. Such extra costs aren’t covered in the package.
It is important to be aware about the luggage restrictions and pack accordingly. If you aren’t mindful about the luggage restrictions then you may have to leave some things behind too. You may also have to hire extra porter to carry the baggage during trekking which adds to your expenses.
Lunch and Dinner in Kathmandu
The cost of your lunch and dinner in Kathmandu is not covered by the package. Our itinerary includes a two nights stay in Kathmandu. Our package does cover the cost of three board meals during the trek. However, you will be getting free time to explore Kathmandu and you can travel on your own. There are many restaurants around Kathmandu.
You can try many local snacks or food in the popular eateries. Exploring the area on your own in your leisure time will be a fascinating experience for you. For authentic experience we recommend eating in the local eateries. There are also many eateries which serve international cuisines. Whether you want to have a fine dining experience or try authentic local dishes, Kathmandu has many places which provide both of the services.
As per our itinerary you will stay in Kathmandu for two days. Once at the time of arrival, and another one when you complete the trek and take a flight back from Lukla. You can stroll around the streets of Thamel and try different dishes on these two days.
