The Helambu region begins at the Lauribina La pass and descends to Melamchi valley. Helambu trek is the most suitable trek for those who are in Nepal for short period of time as it can be completed within 8 to 9 days. Your journey starts off the northeast corner of Kathmandu valley-Sundarijal and goes past Chisapani, Kutumsang, Magin Goth, Tharepati, Melamchigaun, Nakote and Hyolmo, and Tarke Gyhang. Much of the way from Sundarijal, is upstairs, continue and eventually turning left to cross over the dam of a water reservoir (5200ft.).Passing by the Shivapuri National Park integrated with various flora and fauna, you will experience adventurous trail through the oak forest with many ups and down until Chisapani.Chisapani which literally means ‘cold water’ situated at the altitude of 7200ft, is a small village with few houses and lodges where you can take a break, relax and view the rural life of people living there. Overviewing the glimpses of the Himalayas from the height of Chisapani, Trek continues through small villages Chipling, Kharepati to reach Melamchigaun. Offering the spectacular scenery of mountains, Melamchi village accompanies the trail with the utmost flow of its Melamchi river. This adventure of Helambu trek descending through the open farmland of Tarke Ghyang and Hyolmo village comes to an end after reaching Sermathang(2620m).

SHORT ITINERARY 

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m/ 4329ft).

Day 2 Drive to Sundarijal(one hour) and trek to Chisapani (2300m/7544ft) 4 hours.

Day 3: Trek to kutumsang -2446m/ 8022ft. 6-7 hours trek.

Day 4: Trek from Kutumsang to Tharepati (3650m/11972ft), 6 hours.

Day 5: Trek from Tharepati to Tarkeghyang (2560m/8397ft), 5-6 hours.

Day 6: Trek to Sermathang (2610m/8563ft) 4 hours.

Day 7: Trek to Malemchi Bazar (4 hours) and Drive back to Kathmandu (2 hours).

Day 8: Final departure from Nepal.

DAY

1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m/ 4329ft).

Soon after your flight lands at Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International airport), you will be greeted with warm welcome by GSA representative after you being encountered with Display card s/he will be displaying on your arrival. You will be then transferred to the hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

DAY

2

Drive to Sundarijal(one hour) and trek to Chisapani (2300m/7544ft) 4 hours.

After an hour drive to Sundarijal, we start our hike to Chisapani. Today we have to ascend over thousand meters and descend few hundred meters to reach our destination. After 30 minutes hike from Sundarijal, we enter the Shivapuri National park. Passing through the village Mulkharka and walking along the ridge through a forest of Oaks and Rhododendron we will reach Chisapani. Overnight in lodge. 

DAY

3

Trek to Kutumsang -2446m/ 8022ft. 6-7 hours trek.

After a breakfast, we begin our trek to Kutumsang. Today, we have to walk many up and downhill, start with a decent passing through meadows and fields we will reach Pathi Bhangang. Along the way, we will enjoy the Mountain Vista and greeting of the local people. After a Seven hours walk, we will reach Kutumsang. Overnight in a teahouse.

Trek from Kutumsang to Tharepati (3650m/11972ft), 6 hours.

Today, we start our journey with ascending through the Oaks and Rhododendron forest. The altitude getting higher and weather gets cold. After a lunch Break in Mangin kot, we continue our hike along the ridge. The view of Himalayan from Tharepati is magnificent. Overnight in Thadepati

Trek from Tharepati to Tarkeghyang (2560m/8397ft), 5-6 hours.

After a morning breakfast with amazing Mountain vista, we begin our hike to Tarke Ghang. After two hours descend through a forest we will reach the beautiful Sherpa village Melamchighang. We continue our trek down to Melamchi Khol, crossover suspension bridge and hike uphill to Tarke Ghang. Explore the village and one of the oldest and big Monasteries in the region. Tarke Ghang, popularly known as Helambu, mostly Inhabitants by the Helmu cast. Overnight in teahouse

Trek to Sermathang (2610m/8563ft) 4 hours.

Today the trail will be more gradual and easy comparatively others day. We walk through the forest, cross small stream and waterfall. After 4 hours walk around the wide open valley we will arrive at Sermathang. We discover the village and Buddhist Monastery. Overnight in a teahouse. 

DAY

7

Trek to Malemchi Bazar (4 hours) and Drive back to Kathmandu (2 hour).

Today is our final day of the trek. We walk all the way down to Malemchi Bazar, one of the biggest town in the region.  Where our trek is ended then, we drive from Melamchi Bazar to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Final departure from Nepal.

Today the journey along the Nepalese Himalayas comes to an end. We will arrange airport transports that are leaving Nepal.
