I trekked with Green Society Adventure twice to Gokyo and EBC. Both treks were great and very affordable. Raj is a really very nice guide, always kind, helpful and sincere. He arranged both of our treks. The overall experience was just amazing! Many thanks to Green Society Adventure and Raj! I’m planning to arrange my next trip to Upper Mustang with them too.
I was very fortunate to have Raj as my trek leader and companion on the Annapurna Circuit trek in 2012. He was very adaptable to my trek interests while keeping us on schedule and he made that bucket-list trip extremely memorable. As it was a solo trip for me, he provided me with ample time to connect with fellow trekkers while also guiding and assisting those trekkers. In the tea houses at night, it was clear that the other guides deferred to, and relied on, him for feedback. He spoke English very well and freely helped the other guides and the porters with their clients. Several of the other trekkers told me that they wished Raj was their guide and actually followed/shadowed our itinerary because of his useful services. I am eagerly looking forward to the day I can return to Nepal and trek again with Raj.
When my travel partner, Marian Bull, and I were trekking the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Raj literally saved us! His up-beat spirit and confidence helped us climb higher than we thought we could! He answered all of our questions and picked the best tea houses to stay in. We trusted him to help is make difficult decisions, and guide us with altitude acclimation. Being with Raj helped me to actually engage with the Nepalese people along the way. I got to talk to several other Nepalese guides, porters, and tea house owners — everywhere we went we were welcomed with open arms and treated like family. I attribute this to Raj’s impeccable communication skills and network. I left Nepal two years ago having seen some of the highest mountains in the world, having some of the most intimate trans-cultural experiences, and with a new friend, who I still communicate with today.
As medical director of Pain free Foundation and as an adventurer I could not have been more lucky than to find Raj Kumar and Green Society Adventure. Raj took care of a medical group of 24 for a week and did so flawlessly and with a smile. He arranged for multiple pickups at the airport, ensured our bus was on time every morning to go to the hospital, arranged dinners for the group each evening, took care of a city tour during Holi, picked up snacks and a multitude of other things and brought them to hospital when we ran out. Afterwards he arranged an amazing trek to Poon Hill. I am 53 with a bad leg from a motorcycle wreck years ago. Raj never was impatient. For his 29 years of age he is very wise on how life should be lived. If any medical group or person ever needs a guide in Nepal they should get hold of Raj. He made sure each and every person was taken care of all.
We organized our Everest view yoga trek from “Green Society Adventure” We love Raj to trek along Khumbu Region and had great experience for our first time in the mountains. Raj took care of EVERYTHING, and was so patient, kind, and encouraging to us! We couldn’t have found a better guide and friend. We can’t wait to organize a trip from GSA visit him again soon!
