Upper Mustang Trekking journey begins with the flight to Jomsom which is the windiest town of Nepal. Walking starting point is located within the Jomsom Muktinath Trekking and Annapurna Circuit Trek. The trail follows Kaligandaki River and barren treeless landscape. Lower Mustang doesn’t require special permit but Upper Mustang journey requires special permit as it is the restricted trekking region of Nepal. Trekkers traverse through abandoned and tranquil hamlets. Mani Walls, Chortens and Gompas are frequent sights which resemblance the great influence of Tibetan culture. Once featured in National Geography Channel Kaligandaki the deepest gorge of the world could enhance your geographical general knowledge. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m/ 4329ft)

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu city

Day 3: Flight (25min) to pokhara 820m/2690ft, free day.

Day 4: Flight to Jomsom (25min), hike to Kagbeni (2850m/9350ft) 2 hours.

Day 5: Kagbeni to Chele (3050m/10004ft)

Day 6: Chele to Syanboche (3475m/ 11,398ft) 6 hours.

Day 7: Trek Syanboche to Ghaymi (3520m/ 11,545ft), 5 hours.

Day 8: Trek to Charang (3500m/ 11,480ft), 4 hours.

Day 9: Trek to Lo Manthang (3810m/ 12497ft), 5 hours.

Day 10: Exploration day in Lo Manthang.

Day 11: Trek back to Dhakmar (3820m/ 12530ft), 6-7 hours.

Day 12: Trek to Syanboche (3475m/ 11,398ft) 6 hours.

Day 13: Trek to Chhuksang (3050m/ 10004ft), 5-6 hours.

Day 14: Trek to Jomsom 6-7 hours.

Day 15: Flight to Pokhara Sightseeing tour in Pokhara.

Day 16: Flight back to Kathmandu, final departure from Nepal.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m/ 4329ft)

Soon after your flight lands at Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International airport), you will be greeted with warm welcome by GSA representative after you being encountered with Display card s/he will be displaying on your arrival. You will be then transferred to the hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu city

After early morning breakfast, the second day is planned for your amazing historical and cultural tour around capital city Kathmandu. The English speaking tour guide will be your companion ( can be provided any language speaking guide) to let you experience our vivid culture image and local life style while visiting the major temples Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath stupa and best of all the majestic historical place Kathmandu durbar square. In the noon, when your tour gets over, we’ll have a pre-trip discussion and the trek discussion and the trek leader along with other team member will meet you and briefs you regarding trek.

Day 3: Flight (25min) to pokhara 820m/2690ft, free day.

Waking up early in the morning leads you for your trip plan so be ready for the exciting adventure. Today our journey begins with adventurous flight above the range of beautiful green Hills and White Mountains. After a 25 minuets flight we will reach at another beautiful city Pokhara, which is one of the most visited tourist destination in Nepal. The naturally beautiful city has many things to do either you can boat in Phewa lake, visit mountain museum or hang around the market with the beautiful views of Annapurna Himalayan range. Overnight in pokhara. Include: Accommodation and Breakfast.

Day 4: Flight to Jomsom (25min), hike to Kagbeni (2850m/9350ft) 2 hours.

Early in the morning we will head towards airport for a spectacular flight to Jomsom. The 25 minutes adventurous flight above giant Mountains Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range, we reach Jomsom . We can have tea break and enjoy the beautiful view of Mt. Nilgiri and start our trek cross the suspension bridge over Kaligandaki River. Two hours walk along the bank of kaligandaki River, we will be in Kagbani. After a lunch we can visit the interestingly clustered settlement of Kagbeni and its Monasteries. Overnight in Kagbeni, (B, L,D).

Day 5: Kagbeni to Chele (3050m/10004ft)

After checking special permits in Kagbeni we start our journey along the Kaligandaki River bank. The sandy and windy trails follow the up and downhill. Following the way we can enjoy the scenic view of Mountains and a color full dry land with small fields of Buckwheat, barley, white and apple orchards. Reaching small village Tangbo, we will still  continue our trek to Chhusang village where we can visit the Monastery, we will even cross the river and continue  climbing up north to a huge red mass of ruined castles that has fallen from the cliff above. Then we leave the Kaligandaki valley and trek steeply up a rocky gorge to Chele. Overnight in teahouse, (B, L, D).

Day 6: Chele to Syanboche (3475m/ 11,398ft) 6 hours.

Today we begin our trek with steep climb to Eklo Bhatti and continue to Taklam la pass (3620m/ 11905ft) through plateaus and constricted stretches with the great view of Mountain Tilicho and Yakawa. Further, walking down to the little village Samar our trip gets through ascend above Samara village to the ridge. Continuing our trip for another three hours walk takes us to Syanbochen. The surrounding cool streams and juniper trees along with best scenic view will make our hike more wonderful. Finally we pass by a famous cave known as Ramchung to end our today’s trip. Overnight in teahouse, (B, L, D).

Day 7: Trek Syanboche to Ghaymi (3520m/ 11,545ft), 5 hours.

Today we start our trek uphill to Yamda la (3850m/12,667ft), pass through a teahouse, Chortens and Local settlement similar with Tibetans style. We cross the mountain pass and most remarkable fields where people grow foods in extremely arid condition. Climbing up to Nyi pass would be bit long and tough and Descend to our today destination Ghaymi, surrounded by large fields. Overnight in tea house, (B,L,D).

Day 8: Trek to Charang (3500m/ 11,480ft), 4 hours.

After a breakfast we start our pleasant hike to Charang (Tsarang). Crossing the long suspension bridge over Tangmar River and climbing to a plateau and passing a long Mani wall, the trail head east to the village of Charang, which was also the capital of Mustang lo kingdom in 14th century. After a lunch we spend our time to exploring the village and its large Monastery. Overnight in teahouse, (B,L,D).

Day 9: Trek to Lo Manthang (3810m/ 12497ft), 5 hours.

After a breakfast we begin our trek to Lo-Mangthang with majestic views of Mt. Annapurna, Nilgiri, Tilicho and many others. We follow the valley bed, past the ruins of ancient fortresses and Gompas. After crossing the river, the trail ascend gently to the windy pass of Lo, from where we can get an overview of the Lo Mangthang valley. The wall city appears with its outstanding hills on the Tibetan border. Overnight in lodge, (B,L,D).

Day 10: Exploration day in Lo Manthang.

Since our whole trek till today gets you trekking on foot to reach here, we recommended pony to explore day off you have in Lo Manthang.

Day 11: Trek back to Dhakmar (3820m/ 12530ft), 6-7 hours.

Exploring the Mustang, known as “The lost kingdom of Tibet” today we return back  from our trek taking a different route. Trek to Dhakmar via Gyakar lets you visit more the 1200 years old Ghar Gompa with Guru Rinpoche as the prime figure. The Gompa is also famous for its rock painting. Overnight in Dhakmar, (B, L,D).

Day 12: Trek to Syanboche (3475m/ 11,398ft) 6 hours.

After a breakfast we start our hike back to Syanboch, along the way we can enjoy the scenic view of Himalayas and Colorful dry land Mustang. The trail must be dusty because of heavy wind.  After a 6 hours walk we will be in Syanboche. Overnight in teahouse, (B,L,D).

Day 13: Trek to Chhuksang (3050m/ 10004ft), 5-6 hours.

Today we trek back to Chhuksang. Enjoying the scenic view of Mountain and pass the local settlement we will reach to Chhuksang after a 6 hour hike. Overnight in teahouse, (B,L,D).

Day 14: Trek to Jomsom 6-7 hours.

Today we will head toward Jomsom an urban city. We have an option to drive, but GSA team recommends walking as we pass through a huge sided valley of Kaligandaki, a gorge that runs deepest in the world and the isolated villages with giant with house, we can experience the landscapes and local culture. The barren landscape of this area resembles Tibet. After 7 hours long day hike we reach to Jomsom. (Overnight at Jomsom).

Day 15: Flight to Pokhara Sightseeing tour in Pokhara.

After a long memorial trekking in Annapurna Conservation area, today we flight back to Pokhara the beautiful city of lakes and Mountain. After a short rest in hotel, in the afternoon you can spend your time exploring sights. We end our Adventure with a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Pokhara, include (B, D)

Day 16: Flight back to Kathmandu, final departure from Nepal.

Today the journey along the Nepalese Himalayan comes to an end. We will fly to Kathmandu arrange International airport transfer that are leaving Nepal.
